How to have "blended" text

I recently figured out a way to blend your text easier. First, go to dafont.com and download metal macabre. Then, put that text in your sig. type ctrl+l and set the text layer to screen. Then, you can go to colors>colorify. Set the Lightness up a bit so you can see it. Now, set the hue anywhere that looks good. The text will be slightly "see through", making it perfectly blended.

Or you can just put the text layer on overlay O.o, are you using gimp?

Yeah he is.

I usually just do something like overlay too.

Well it matters what colors are on the bg. Sometimes it will look good, sometimes ****. There's several things you can do to make a text good.

Out of all the times I used overlay on text it looks like crap, thats why I hardly use text. only sometimes. My best text was on this sig

yeah but you did something else with the text. how about slap some random text and set it to overlay. Its going to look all out of place. Thats what people will think you guys do

i use a soft brush and wipe away sharp edges.
