I believe that's the steps in CS3, but don't quote me on that, I don't use CS3.

It's probably a good idea to do this since 99% of the tutorials you'll find will use flash 8 (& ActionScript 2) or lower and from what I've heard CS3 is a bit harder to code.

CS3 = More efficient, great for intermediate-advanced users

F8 AS2 = Easier to code, better for beginner-intermediate users

i had cs3, but hate it because no matter what setting the action script is on, all the scripting is placed on the timeline...
on flash 8 you just put it directly on the movie clip/button...
so cs3 is gay...

Bigmutha, I stopped coding on MovieClips the minute someone told me to. If you get too used to it you will fall behind if you plan to continue programming with Flash. It's pretty easy to get used to.

You're right Gaz, except intermediate probably won't even get AS3 unless they have knowledge in another programming language that is more OOP and strict than ActionScript1 or 2.

Where are you having problems shape tweening? All you do for a basic shape tween is drawing two different vectors on two different keyframes and right click on the frames in between and select Shape Tween.

It could be different in CS3, but that's what it is in 8 Pro.

That's a good idea, keep using flash 8 but start practicing the kind of thing you need for CS3. I didn't even know you couldn't put code directly on movieclips, I do that all the time!

You can put it all on the timeline instead. There are a lot of things you can do more than one way in flash 8 that's why it's more user friendly.

all i know is (cos ive been using flash for...2 days...) is tht u click a movie clip and u put it on it. Also, u can put it on instance but then it is not about the movie...damn i need a good tutorial. I can do tweens, basic actionscript, but not key stuff or anything like tht...
