Anyone who's taken a high school chemistry class will know this... but still: Diamonds are actually single molecules. They are constructed of carbon atoms covalently bonded to four other carbon molecules in a crystal lattice. This also accounts for their immense strength: cutting diamonds actually entails destroying these carbon-carbon bonds.

Diamond is also not the most stable form of carbon at room temperature. Graphite is. Diamond actually decomposes into graphite at normal atmospheric conditions, albeit at an almost unobservably slow rate (it'd take more than a million years for a 1-carat diamond to completely decompose into graphite).

This one's a bit more interesting: All the lead in the Earth's crust is the result of the radioactive decay of uranium. Lead is not produced through any fusion reactions known to occur anywhere in the universe.
