Yeah, but if you notice, on just about every breakout game (except ones that use the speed of the paddle) they alter the direction of the ball according to where it hi the paddle. If it didn't, the ball would always be at a 45 degree angle. The only gameplay would be keeping the ball above the bottom. You wouldn't be able to control the angle.

There are problems with the tile-based collision in the game, but hopefully it will all be sorted out.

Right now all extend power-ups work fine, and retract as well. Lasers is easy, lives are easy. The others will take a bit of time though.

Should I create a level editor? Right now it uses strings to create levels.

a lvl editor would be awesome! then we could actually use the Custom Levels forum area...lol

also, i was just playing and the ball came down on the black blocks on the right side of the screen and now the ball is sliding to the left and right, still stuck in the black, and bouncing extremely fast, killing everything..lol

yeah i know that jam, that's why i suggegested a rounded paddle

i love level editors in any game, but i'd say just get the main work done first, lol

Yeah, main priority = main game, but, a level editor would be really cool

i was checking it out again....and i noticed something instead of making the numbers countdown, make them change colors to the one that is inferior to them, 2 (green (i think)) would then turn to 1 (red/pink....WTH is that color)....also make the blocks darker in color as they increase in health...considering black is infinite....make 5 a very dark blue, 4 dark blue, 3 blue, 2 light blue, 1 almost white, i used blue as an example, and instead of making it so that you only have to hit the upgrade boxes once, give them like 3 health...on the front page what does mutliplyx2 and multiplyx8 power up mean? your score? also i think there needs to be more "down"grades

LIKE:
- health
add health to blocks
speed up paddle, slow paddle

and when the powerup falls make them a color red for a bad power up, and green for good....yellow for neutral


oh i get it! the sides of the paddle would contract if you got the shrink downgrade, lol nice graphic choice
