Yes, I did steal this from another website.

I changed a lot of the game though, so it's not all stolen.
This is a game called "Mafia" that is played in person and on forums. I've always wanted to start a game of it on TGH, so now I am going to!

The Story: The users in a game of TGH Mafia are members of a small online community (everyone starts out with a high score), which is being terrorized by cheaters. During the night, the cheaters cause chaos on the server, stealing the high score from a user (when you lose you high score you are out of the game). During the day, the users gather together, seeking justice, and vote to convict one of their number of secretly being a member of the cheaters , and getting them banned (when you get banned you are out of the game).

The Objective: The mod and users need to figure out who the cheaters are and ban them before it's too late. The cheaters however need to try their best to avoid capture and banning, and instead try to steal all the users and mods high scores.

The catch: no one knows the role of any other player.

The order of events and rules:
-Anyone wanting to play must send me a PM (PM me your entrance and check back on this post for updates).
-Once all are gathered, each player will be PMed their role: mod , user , cheater. Each one is very important and entertaining to play. The rules for each will be explained in the PM and here
-I will present a game-opening post, announcing the threat of the incoming cheaters . "Night" will fall, and I will ask the cheaters to select a user victim via PM (their high score will be stolen). That person is then out of the game. I will then ask the mod character who they would like to know about. The mod will select any player, and be told whether s/he is a cheater or normal user .
-The "Day" will arrive, the user whose high score was stolen will be announced, and the remaining alive players all discuss who they think did it. All remaining players will reach a general agreement as to who they want to ban, and upon said banning, be told whether that player was an innocent user or a cheater.

This would conclude one round of the game, and it continues back to night, where the cheaters strike again, and the mod finds out if another person is a user or a cheater. The mod may reveal him/herself at any time, but no other player has any reason to believe him. Usually if the mod reveals him/herself too soon, the cheaters will just kill him off the next night. This is a game of lying and deceit (so some of you will be pretty good at it already) for the cheaters, and cunning and perception for the users and mods.

The game ends if the innocents ban all the cheaters, or when the cheaters steal enough innocent players high scores, so that they can no longer be overpowered by them (example: 3 hackers and 3 innocents means the hackers can’t be voted to banning as there is no majority on the good side).

PM me if you want to play (you do not get to pick your role, I do that once everyone is assembled, the PM just lets me know you want to play) – the game will begin soon.

You may NOT show anyone the PM that says what role you are.
You CAN argue/flame in this thread if it is about the game.

If you are not participating in the game, you may not post in this thread. It will be considered spam, and you will be punished severely. (DEATH)

You may at any time reveal your identity, but no one has and reason to believe you. And for some roles, it would be just stupid.

If you have been removed from the game, you may still post in the thread. Any of your posts must be completely in italics though. You must not post any spoilers though.

Actually, THE GAME HAS BEGUN! So, I'll PM the cheaters and see whose high score they want to steal. So, for now, wait...
