I've just changed the settings to make them a bit more generous. Here's what they currently are:

rep = the number of rep points you have
rep power = the number of + or - rep points you can give to another user.

Starting rep = 10

Minimum posts before user has rep power = 1

Minimum rep a user must have to have rep power = 10

Starting rep power = 1

rep power +=1 every 100 days

rep power +=1 every 100 posts

rep power +=1 every 40 rep points

Number of times a user can use rep per day = 5

The number of ppl a user must give rep to before they can give it to the same person again = 3

I've also set it so I now follow the same rules as everybody else (instead of having 10 rep power as I did originally).


On an interesting side note, I have hardly any rep!! If this post is useful remember to leave me some

Edit: I just added a new feature, now you can choose how much rep to leave people up to your rep power. That way you don't have to give your max rep power to everything (useful if you want to give a joke 1 rep point but a walkthrough 5). Unfortunately a drop down text box won't work with AJAX so it means it can't be in that pop up box any more. I think it's worth it though, what do you guys think?

Also, if you can pass the amount of days the user has been on the forum to flash, I can just do the post+days+rep calculation in the flash and throw it under the rep in another color.

ahhh, that system seems flawed gaz, if someone goes inactive does it add to there rep power? some goes insctive for a year thier rep power would be insane....

Not insane but I guess it would mean +3 rep power that they didn't do anything to deserve (other than not get banned). I can change it at any time + I was planning on changing it to +1 rep power every year when the forum has been open longer.

Maybe you're right though, anybody else have any thoughts? Should I get rid of +rep power every xxx amount of days?

i think that maybe 100 days is too long
maybe 50 or 75? i mean, if someone has been an active member for a long time, it would be kind of lame to only get +3 rep power a year....

just make it so that it counts untill you go inactive, when do you go inactive? 99 days? lol i got a power of 3
