(I don't wanna make it sound like i'm hinting as something although i wish i could become one)

Gaz decides who can become a moderator, and i think you have to be someone he thinks would be a good moderator. as for admin, i'm not sure he can bestow that power to anyone, as it essentially means the "king of the site", which i believe is something you can only get if you created it.
I'm guessing that if you wanna be a mod, help the site and (rightfully) earn the trust of other units.

gong is exactly right.

The admin is ussually the owner of the site + is the one who selects new moderators. Moderators can do all the things needed to make the forum run smoothly (delete posts, move threads, give out infractions etc.) + an admin can do some extra stuff like upgrade the forums, edit templates etc.

being as your alt also has admin priviliges, is it possible for you to grant them to another user as simply as making them a mod? or is it more complicated than that?

If it is possible to make someone an admin just by changing their status, Gaz actually has more powers than admin. So he can't really give you all of his powers....unless he's insanely stupid, or knows you very well...I doubt I'd hand over all my website information to some random guy on the internet xD
