Gimp to Photobucket

I saved an image on gimp, and I try to upload it to tinypic AND photobucket. When I do this, it says it is saved as the wrong format, it wont upload. I saved it in my pictures. Help, am I missing something, does gimp need special treatment?

When saving your files, make sure they're in .png format.
